After years of hoping and dreaming, I made it to NY Fashion Week. It’s been a whirlwind day at the tents and I must admit, it was as NY Times snapper Bill Cunningham always says, “mahvelous.” With the indomitable Constance White as my guide, I went to see Herve Leger, Diane Von Furstenberg, Rebecca Taylor, and Rachel Roy. It was spectacular– Max Azria for Leger gave us body and I loved DVF’s Egyptian-inspired-boho collection, I think she’s garnered inspiration from cruising the Nile with BFF Christian Louboutin. Rebecca Taylor’s Lolita-chic wares were fresh and fun and Rachel Roy’s pieces were drenched in pops of color and had a distinctly 70s appeal. Lots of celebs were front row: Mischa Barton, Hilary Duff, Amanda Bynes, Peaches Geldof, Mena Suvari, Gabrielle Union, Tiffani Amber Thiessen, loads of fashion folk (see Barneys Simon Doonan and Julie Gilhart below), socials like Tinsley Mortimer, and of course, my Bravo faves, Rachel Zoe and the Real Housewives of NYC, LuAnn and Jill Zaaaarin. I was so brazen to tell Jill and daughter Ali that I loved them (Ali complimented me on my necklace). And in the words of Ice Cube, “today was a good day…ooh ah.” More tomorrow!
